Insurance Accepted

Insurance benefits for nutrition counseling are better than ever! More often than not our clients are fully covered with no co-pays, co-insurance, or deductibles. A physician referral is usually required.

I am currently an in-network provider with HMSA, HMAA, UHC, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and HMSA Akamai.

Not all nutrition related diagnoses are covered by insurance, and coverage may vary between plans. I will verify your coverage and bill your insurance carrier on your behalf if applicable. I also take FSA, HSA, and cash pay options for those without insurance coverage.

    1. Call your insurance plan in order to verify your coverage and benefits for nutrition therapy / counseling.

    2. Sign into the client portal and complete your intake forms within 2 business days after scheduling your initial session.

    3. Many clients find it helpful to have a notebook for taking notes, along with a list of questions.

    4. Upload any additional paperwork that you feel might be helpful (e.g., food/symptom journal).

  • As we wrap up our first meeting, we'll collaborate to determine the ideal frequency for your follow-up appointments. Each 30-minute follow-up session is a personalized opportunity to check in on your progress, address any questions, and tackle obstacles you may be facing.

Now, here's the exciting part—no two follow-up sessions are the same because everyone's nutritional journey is as unique as they are. While some prefer a bi-weekly check-in, others find weekly sessions beneficial, and some thrive with a visit every 2-3 months. It's all about what suits YOU best.

In these follow-ups, we dive into the specifics of YOUR nutritional landscape. Here's a sneak peek into what a 30-minute session might cover:

🌾 High Cholesterol Focus: Explore creative ways to amp up fiber intake, leaving you with a brand-new repertoire of high-fiber meals and snacks, along with a handy guide to the fiber content of various foods.

🌸 PCOS Journey: Learn the art of deciphering food labels, identify key nutrients for your diet, and discuss how medications impact weight loss, fertility, and overall well-being.

🌀 Irritable Bowel Disease Exploration: Delve into the pros and cons of a FODMAPs diet, gather your food preferences, and envision a future session where you receive a personalized FODMAP meal plan tailored to your individual tastes.

As we progress, sessions evolve, potentially incorporating exercise, sleep, and stress management goals. The possibilities are vast, making each follow-up uniquely tailored to YOUR needs and aspirations. Imagine the exciting journey ahead with endless topics to explore in our follow-up sessions! 🚀

  • Feel free to message me via the client portal at any time between sessions and I will try to respond to you in a timely fashion. If your question or request takes more than 5 minutes to answer, I will note it in your chart to be discussed during our next session.

  • As we work together, we will determine the best meal planning approach, based on your personal situation and needs. These options might include grocery list of basic staples, routine meal combination ideas, and general macronutrient balancing. I believe in building sustainable lifestyle habit and not a ridged plan, which happen over the course of numerous sessions.

That said, I can provide a 7-day personalized meal-plan for an additional $100 (ala-carte), as a general starting guide to sustainable practices. I also find it can help with specific need, such as GI disorders, Food Allergies, and Intolerances. NOTE: This will not be covered under insurance, and is an additional cost.

  • Nutrition therapy is covered by most insurance plans. Coverage varies by insurance plan, often with different rules about referrals, reason for visit, and network/out-of-network providers.

Before we meet, it is your responsibility to verify your own benefits and understand your financial responsibilities (co-payment, co-insurance, deductibles).

See the Insurance section for more information.

    • All Major Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)

    • Health Savings Account (HSA) Card
